I recently stayed in this hotel and I won’t lie I heard very negative things, however on arrival I found that the rooms were very accommodating and the bathrooms were in excellent condition. The only concern is the lack of plug sockets but apart from that the room was great. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and the bar lounge was also to a high standard. It’s safe to say we enjoyed our stay at this hotel

Get what you pay for hotel, It was the cheapest hotel in Liverpool city centre on a Saturday night (£60 when everything else was £100 upwards). It’s in a perfect location for going out to the bars. The bed was reasonably comfortable and had an okay sleep. Hotel all round was poorly kept though and grubby which was quite sad as I’m sure in its glory days it was one of the best to stay at. Expect a long wait at check in, but staff are very friendly and helpful. Bar downstairs was also good vibes and very cheap pints also!

Check in was a long wait, and it wasn’t welcoming at all. Same lady when it come to check out and didn’t even lift her eye lids to look at us this time. Hotel it self, looks grand from the outside, the lobby and sitting area shows its grand time back in the day. Room it self was big, quiet, probably great sound proof from the solid thick walls was not disturbed by any noise but, super dated. The interior and hardware it self super dated and old does not match the grand feel of the hotel it self. Looks like it hasn’t been updated for a long long time. Bed and bedding was comfortable to sleep on, pillow a bit too high/firm gave me shoulder ache. Window in the bedroom was hard to open, in fact we couldn’t work out how to open it the first day. Be in this room with no open window it got stuffy very quickly…it was horrible. I guess fortunately there was a fan in the room to get some air circulation other wise it can be very unbearable. Bathroom looks newly done, and shower was great. No mirror in the bathroom was very inconvenient. It alsomade no sense a bathroom with zero ventilation. After shower the whole room just stay humid and damp, and after a bit it smells damp, horrible to go in, so towels don’t even have the chance to dry properly. Not sure how it can ever aired out being a bathroom, and can’t help to wonder if the laminated materials are covering a ton of mould.

Received the stay at this hotel as part of a gift to go to the theatre. Upon entry the hotel seems very grand, there was a short wait to check in. Once arriving to our room we were impressed by the size of the room, the bathroom seemed to be new and was probably the nicest part of our room. Only downsides with the bathrooms was that there was no mirror above the sink which I found odd, and the bathroom radiator was turned on with no way to turn it off (which was not ideal considering it was 30° outside). There was no air con in the room which made the stay uncomfortable due to the souring temperatures outside. However, we were provided with 3 fans that we could use! The downside to this is there were only 3 available plug sockets in the room, and they were all far away from the beds, meaning the air from the fans didn’t reach the beds very well. The beds were clearly cheap spring beds, however we both slept more comfortably than expected when we first felt the beds. We requested some extra pillows and the staff were happy to bring us some more! I’d say this hotel is fine if you manage to get a room for a lower price, and you don’t plan to spend too much time in the rooms. Would be ideal for a place to rest your head whilst out exploring Liverpool, as it is really close to Lime Street Station!

Never going back!!!. The room was spacious and well equipped. However we found 2 used foot plasters, 1 on the furniture and 1 under a cushion. So much for cleaning and cleanliness. The breakfast was disgusting, the food had obviously been cooked at least the day before and just put on hot plates, it was lukewarm and I was nauseous for hours, disgusting. There were vagrants who were foul mouthed and loitering on the steps of the hotel all the time. The deafening noise from the Irish bar went on until 3-30am. I am still waiting for a promised phone call from reception, but I will be in touch with the relevant authorities to complain. Steer well clear.
