What’s included in the venue hire price?

Hiring Frobisher Auditorium 1 gives you sole use of our larger tiered lecture theatre (245 seats). Included in the hire is the fully equipped stage with lectern, a high-spec projector and large screen, built-in PA system with microphones, and our in-house tech support throughout your event. Essentially, you get the big auditorium ready to go, we provide the standard AV gear, lighting, and a technician to ensure your presentations or performances run smoothly

Does the venue provide catering, or can I bring my own food and drinks?

Accepted Answer

For events in Auditorium 1, we’ll arrange any catering through our approved providers. Typically, we set up catering stations in the foyer (for registration teas, coffee breaks, networking lunches, etc.). We do not permit outside catering inside the venue.

Can I decorate or brand the venue for my event?

Accepted Answer

You can certainly brand the auditorium for your event. Common practices include projecting your branding on the screen, putting a branded backdrop or signage on stage, and placing banners or posters in the foyer and entrance. The seats themselves are fixed and can’t be changed, but the stage is your canvas.

Is the venue accessible, and does it have parking or nearby transport links?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Auditorium 1 is fully accessible. We have lifts to the auditorium level and reserved wheelchair spaces within the seating plan. As with all Barbican facilities, there’s also on-site car parking available. Transport-wise, we’re very central, Barbican station is a short walk, and Moorgate, St Paul’s, and multiple bus lines are also conveniently close. Guests coming by public transport will have an easy journey.

What is the venue’s pricing structure e.g. minimum spend, dry hire, or package options?

Accepted Answer

We rent out Auditorium 1 on a standard dry hire basis with a fixed rental fee. It’s a larger space, so the hire fee will be higher than Auditorium 2, generally a significant full-day hire fee (multiple thousands of pounds). The exact figure depends on the duration and technical requirements, but to give an idea: it’s a bespoke quote rather than a per-person charge or minimum spend. Essentially, you pay one price to secure the auditorium for your event (plus any extra services like advanced AV or catering).
