The Ampersand Hotel, The Wine Room - Dinner

We went to the Ampersand Hotel for their amazing science-themed Afternoon Tea. First I have to say that the service here was exceptional. Our servers were so attentive and welcoming and I was incredibly impressed. I’d say best service I had anywhere during my 3 weeks in the UK. The Afternoon Tea itself was so much fun. The savory sandwiches I think were the highlight. We were offered refills on multiple occasions, which we didn’t realize was included when booking (a nice perk). As a science teacher, I really loved the sciencey take on the meal. It was entertaining for adults as well as for the kids are the neighbouring tables. The dining room was beautiful. I would highly recommend the Ampersand.

From the moment I booked my reservation to the moment a gentleman insisted on hefting my heavy bags into my taxi, I felt at home and taken care of at the Ampersand. My trip started with a surprise upgrade thanks to Aurel in a deluxe room with a beautiful balcony and chocolates waiting for me upon my return that first evening. The breakfast team ensured I had a perfectly made iced latte and delicious, beautifully made food every morning. The evening team made up gorgeous craft cocktails, both from the menu and off menu depending on what I was feeling each night. The people who work in this hotel are not only hardworking, they are incredibly kind and full of life. It was a true joy to spend time with them during my solo trip to London. The individuals who clean the rooms and provide the turndown service did an especially impeccable job. The smallest of details were not missed — from refilling the shampoo to leaving extra lotion to ensuring I had boxes of water for my long days out in the city. I absolutely loved this hotel and the team who breathed life into it — I cannot wait to be back.

Room: Super cozy atmosphere inside with turn-down service, felt like I was coming back to the home of my dreams – clean, with warm, recessed lighting + very comfortable bed. Food: I have a gluten & dairy allergy and there weren’t too many options available for breakfast on-site, just an FYI so our go-to was Farm Girl nearby for breakfast / brunch. Location: Super convenient, right across the street to the Tube! Service: Extremely helpful front desk staff - I had a package sent to the hotel & there were no issues in retrieving & it was super easy to request extra cutlery & bowls to the room so I could make my own oatmeal in the morning.
