A pre theatre treat on a wet winter night. The warm welcome and cosy atmosphere soon shook off the darkness from outside. With pre drinks down stairs with no pressure to take our table in the restaurant upstairs. Staff were very attentive meeting our needs all evening. Service was good in nice environment, the food quality was fantastic and portion size above expectations but good value for money. Highly recommend

My Girlfriend and I have been here every Valentines day for the past six years, and every other year we have loved it. But this year was awful. We were completely ignored by the service staff in the restaurant, and had to ask to order drinks after 20mins, then had to call them over to order food, which took a very long time. The servers were on their phones most of the time and one was picking her nose in full view of customers. When the food did come out the starter came after the mains, my Girlfriends duck confit was cold and my order was wrong. I sent mine back and when it came out it was inedible. We left hungry and disappointed. After years of loving it here we will never be coming back. Such a shame.

Used to be my favourite restaurant. Been going with my partner for 6 years now. Our experiences with the husband and wife working there were so joyful. They always put a smile on our faces and the food was always delicious. Not now. We booked for Valentine’s Day, as it’s usually busy this time of year and we didn’t want to miss out. We entered, noticing it was rather empty, a total of 5 other couples were there. We waited to be seated for a few minutes until the two waitresses finally noticed us standing there. One of them came over and waved in the general direction of the tables and said to us to just pick one. We did. Sat down, and noticed the table was dirty. Not the end of the world. We dusted all of the crumbs off ourselves and sat down. We decided what we wanted and waited for the waitress to take our drinks order. We waited a little longer and no one came. Looking around, other diners were poking and prodding their food which we thought was odd because we’ve always loved it here. We waited 20 minutes and no one came over. In the end we noticed someone from one of the other tables get up and go and get the waitress so she could order food, as they were also sick of waiting. We did the same so we could order. After we said what drinks we wanted the waitress walked away before we could order food so we had to flag her down again to order dinner. This wouldn’t be the worst moment in the world if the restaurant was busy, but all together there were 6 tables of 2 to look after and two waitresses who stayed behind the counter. They didn’t check in on any tables and a lot of the time kept going round the corner, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were on their phones. Unfortunately this is when my partner and I noticed one of the waitresses picking her nose in full view of the customers. The food arrived. The starter arrived after the mains. My food was cold, my partners was wrong and when it came back out a second time it was somehow burnt to a crisp and also cold. The chips looked still frozen, or at least picked up from McDonald’s. I was so hungry from waiting I still ate my cold food but my partner couldn’t eat his. We were grateful that we didn’t have to pay for his food and was given a discount on the rest, but being all glammed up for Valentine’s Day and ending up having to get a kebab, where the customer service was vastly better, is a bit of a downer.
