Fabulous Afternoon Tea! Sandwiches, freshly baked scones, cream and jam, cakes, all beautifully presented and delicious 😋

Magnificent staff. Warm welcome and wonderful people. Breakfast is wonderful but most of all the staff and other visitors have been amazing! A very special and pleasant visit.

Pro: the staff were polite; it was reasonably clean; breakfast was included (though it was the same each day and the only hot offering was oatmeal) Con: the room (superior king room) was TINY. We heard another guest complain and they were moved to a larger room. We decided to just try and deal, but it was extremely difficult to navigate with luggage and two reasonably sized people. There was a chair, but you couldn’t really sit in it, so we could only comfortably be in the room to sleep. There was a closet, but too shallow to stash luggage, except for backpacks. The area is noisy at night. We were woken up by sirens each night of our stay, but we couldn’t close the window without it being stifling. The hotel is farther out than is convenient for exploring central London and you have to ride either the DLR or C2C lines (DLR was down two days of our trip). It works, it just adds time and expense if the main goal is being in zone 1. It was also inconvenient for days that we needed an early start. We paid quite a lot more per night than is advertised by the hotel and on hotels.com, where we booked. More than $1800.00 for eight (8) nights. So it’s not even a cost savings to be farther out and it would be hard to find a smaller/less comfortable room.
