St. Katharine's is an affordable and unique venue located in zone 2 between the City and Canary Wharf.
The Foundation has a wealth of facilities at your service and presents seven meeting rooms which hold groups of people ranging from 2 – 70 in number. Many of our meeting rooms have natural light, and windows onto our beautiful gardens. High speed unlimited WiFi is available free of charge throughout St Katharine’s and we provide complimentary AV equipment to suit each groups requirements.

Cancellation policy

If a conference booking is cancelled 4 weeks prior to the start of the hire period, any monies paid over the 50% will be refunded within 7 working days. If a conference booking is cancelled within 4 weeks of the start of the hire period, the hirer will be required to pay the balance of the full hire cost including any catering costs.

My parents stayed here over 8 nights and absolutely loved it. They particularly liked the food and calming atmosphere of the complex and the room was well-suited to their needs. Limehouse is such a lovely undiscovered gem! From here you can walk along the Thames, canals, down to Wapping or Canary Wharf... It's so close to central London and right next to the train. For those complaining it is far, I don't agree (everywhere in London unavoidably requires travel). I can't wait until my parents visit again - we will go for afternoon tea!

Given it's location it is very quiet and the bed was super. So the main criteria of a good night's sleep was achieved. Good connections via Limehouse DLR and local buses. The yurt cafe is very good and does light meals and drinks during the he day. The breakfast is very good and was included in the price. Its continental rather than a fry up - but very nice. Wouldn't hesitate on booking again. Nice NOT to have a TV in the room

A Remarkable Stay at The Royal Foundation of St Katharine Our family spent a delightful week at The Royal Foundation of St Katharine with our two-year-old daughter, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. In particular, Wendy’s warmth and professionalism left a lasting impression, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. Each morning, we enjoyed a superb breakfast featuring a wide selection of fresh and delicious options to suit every taste. The property’s tranquil garden was another highlight—an enchanting retreat where our daughter was delighted by the sight of playful squirrels. The Royal Foundation of St Katharine offers the rare charm of a place that feels more like a family-run haven than a conventional hotel. The genuine kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff create an atmosphere of comfort and hospitality that is truly special. We would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a peaceful and memorable stay in London.

I stayed here as I had an event at the Troxy nearby. The location was convenient for that, and although it’s a bit out of the way for central London, the DLR station is right next to the property, which makes getting around easy. My single room was small but had all the necessary amenities for a one-night stay. The staff at reception were super friendly and welcoming. However, I found it quite expensive for that part of London, so I’m not sure I’d stay again mainly due to the price.

Sadly, St Katherine's is becoming unaffordable to the humble traveller. The rooms were always clean, yet utilitarian, (though they do seem to experience regular plumbing issues such as flooded shower rooms, etc). It's hard to discern the original monastic ethos or testimony to hospitality when the prices are little different to the big London hotel chains. Although it is a surprisingly quiet location, as soon as you leave the campus it is threatening and horrible; transport links are not ideal either. I'm disappointed that I now have to look elsewhere when I need a bed for the night.
