When i first arrived, l had a few issues with check in and confusion over my work £25 pre paid allowance, but the manager was very helpful and sorted things out. The rooms are standard but clean. However, the food for breakfast and dinner was spot on. Would stay again if working in the area.

Stayed in this hotel twice, once in 2023 and once this year in 2025 and both times the service was exceptional. Like all hotels, a bit pricey but the only place I could find just outside Central Manchester with secure, free parking guarded by a gate and CCTV. The air conditioning in the room made it freezing which I loved as it was humid outside. It's a bit disjointed in terms of connections into Manchester but at least that guarantees it security and tranquility.

Rooms a bit dated and the hotel is in a great place. They have a stupid rule about taking a pre authorisation on rooms which just doesn't work when people are staying for work! However the service from the staff is great. Best hotel staff anywhere I stay!

Stayed for a week while on a course with work. The rooms are quite basic compared to other Holiday inns I've stayed in even in Manchester. When I checked out they tried to bill me for drinks that had been billed to my room, not by me but I think my reaction showed they weren't ordered by me. Very basic place to stay but does the job. When I checked in there was some kind of white powder on the seat which I found strange 😆 🤣.

Awful Staff. Awful hotel. I had booked a twin bed as I was traveling with my daughter, but once we got there, the girl at the reception, Sophie, very rudely told us that there were fully booked. And if she “tried hard”, she might get a queen bedroom. I had already paid via booking,com, and it was night time, I very politely asked her to put a note in the system that we did show up but the room was not available. Hence, I need a refund. Which later on they refused. It was getting late in night, so I had no choice but to get a $500 plus room at Hilton Garden Inn Manchester hotel, Emirates Old Trafford . Just for a few hours. We were supposed to go to Edinburgh the next day but this disturbing episode made it impossible for us to continue our journey as I have a heart condition and we were left with no choice but to go back to London. So I lost money on The Scholar hotel in Edinburgh too. So because of one horrible person or staff member, I lost money there, paid triple the amount for a few hours of sleep at another hotel and lost the money I paid for my Edinburgh hotel too. It was horrible horrible horrible. Our whole trip got cancelled because of one person!!!!
