Excellent breakfast- loved that breakfast and check out are till 11am on the weekend- this alone would bring me back again! Can order poached eggs - another plus. Very friendly staff. Nice location- quiet, just next to the Baltic, but still within easy reach of Newcastle city centre and also Ouseburn, which is definitely worth a look. Comfy bed. Good, powerful shower. Would really recommend. We got a good price via a Groupon deal.

Visited NCL and stayed at this hotel as its right on the banks of the river and it was really a good choice for us! A short 5 min walk to the millennium bridge and with the rest of the city on other side, it was Perfect to enjoy all the “happening” with a lot of quiet surrounding you. Stunning views and good breakfast. Isabella at the desk helped us get checked In and out and she was quick, kind and helpful! Definitely recommend staying here! The wonderful lady at the breakfast buffet was also amazing!!

The hotel position is great, the parking was ok but not enough for the hotel. Maybe some deals with parking providers for hotel guests would help. Some road and building works going on in the area so some car parks out of action so when i returned from my meeting it was a scramble to try and find somewhere decent value. I parked in the Baltic but it was very expensive, fortunately work were paying. Also the rooms are a little dated but the position and set up of the hotel is great. Enjoyed the stay and would definitely consider staying again due to the position of the hotel and the proximity to Quayside Bars and Restaurants. Very comfortable nights sleep and the air conditioning was a welcome amenity given the high temperatures recently.

The reception staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great spot for exploring the town and Quayside. Upon going to our room we had to literally stride over a member of the cleaning team who was sat on the corridor floor legs stretched across the floor texting on her phone and made no attempt to move as we approached, the same person was sat in a chair in another room the following day texting on her phone, when we got to our room we found that they had not bothered making our bed or replenished our toilet roll. First impressions count and ours wasn’t a very good one.

Basic hotel. Clean enough. My room wasn't good - I hated the view from the room. It overlooked the office behind, so we had to have our curtains closed all the time. However, I'm sure other rooms are better. Car park is tiny, forget about thinking you can park there. Maybe this should be reserved for disabled people only (I'm not disabled) and drop-off. Soap and conditioner never filled up during our stay. Also, the shower curtain is barely hanging on (it's missing several hooks - would cost about 50p to sort). Finally, I'd request that if you reply to this review you don't say "Thank you for your review, [name]. We appreciate your honest feedback and are sorry some aspects of your stay didn't fully meet expectations. We'll use your comments to continue improving and hope to welcome you back. — Leonardo Hotel Newcastle Quayside" It's sounds a little impersonal and suggests you are just box-ticking a response :).
