Located just two miles from the centre of Oxford, Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House Hotel is a charming venue for your private event. The hotel is set within three acres of splendid mature, tree-lined gardens which provide a peaceful, delightful setting for your day.

This hotel is one of few Oxfordshire venues to offer outdoor ceremonies for weddings, so you can choose to say your vows outside on the intimate lawn, surrounded by the enchanting gardens.

The hotel itself has three wonderful banqueting suites, so whether you are planning a small affair or a larger celebration, it has the perfect space to host your guests. We can accommodate receptions up to 180 people.

A selection of private dining menus are available in addition to a BBQ option on our stunning outdoor terrace. 77 bedrooms offer on-site accommodation with the option of Elm House, a luxurious self-contained lodge, ideal for families or groups.

All the staff we had contact with were all very helpful and friendly. A special thank you to Wendy and the kitchen staff (Liverpool fans, like myself). The hotel is situated in a great spot, in lovely grounds. Enjoyed seeing the squirrels when walking down to breakfast.

We had an amazing stay! The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic. We checked in on a Sunday and really enjoyed the Sunday roast — it was so delicious! I also appreciated the gluten-free bread and Free From options available at breakfast — such a thoughtful touch. The staff were all lovely, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

Stayed for 2 nights, the hotel has a very nice ambience and well decorated throughout. The terrace is a nice spot for morning coffee or late night drink. All staff were friendly and helpful they go above and beyond to accommodate us special thanks to Julia and the bar staff on Sunday night. Breakfast buffet has plenty of options even for the most pickiest customers and was a highlight of our stay. Until next time!

What a wonderful stay. The breakfast is incredible! Our rooms were beautiful…. Easy bus ride into town. Stayed with my 7 year old and our housekeeper made up the sweetest towel bear for my boy when we got back at the end of the day…. Thank you Wendy and Liz!!

This hotel is nicely located just outside Oxford with good car parking facilities and nice walks nearby. Rooms are clean and spacious with a good breakfast offering in what looks like a newly refurbished breakfast room. Family rooms unfortunately only take under 12’s as a third person which is a shame as rooms are big enough for another adult, even at a supplement. Bar area nice for a drink and some food with a decent outdoor terrace.
