The room was attractive and comfortable. The only issue was a slowly draining basin but the staff responded to this very quickly. It will need another go soon but that wasn't problem. The aircon was effective and welcome. Overall the staff were excellent - friendly and helpful beyond what one normally expect these days. It was no problem to extend our stay to a third night, we were easily able to get more tea and coffee supplies for the room and the 'come and go' car park system worked well. The location was perfect for a wedding at the cathedral and for the central points of interest to explore, as well as the tram system with nearby stops, although we didn't use this. We would happily stay again.

It’s a very interesting building with history of the school it once was throughout the hallways. The room was very clean. Had an issue with the toilet which was dealt with quickly with a room change. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Fantastic location.

Great location for City Hall. We were going to a gig, Lovely old building. Reception warm and staff welcoming. Only one lift working. Room large and stylish. High and comfy bed. Good storage. Bathroom looked good with large shower. Unfortunately the room was cool and with a very cold tiled floor. After the gig we returned to the hotel bar at 11:00pm for a drink. Although officially open until 12:00 there were no Draught beers, the last two bottles of wine were almost empty and the single member of staff began clearing the bar of spirits at 11:30. Customers were clearly unimpressed. What a shame.

EDIT: the manager on his reply claims we talked about this separately - nothing of the sort happened. It was the last day, I left, left a review and they came a month later with this fake reply, which is probably aimed to make potential customers feel like if they have an issue it will be dealt with. I'm adding this just so you know it's a facade, they clearly don't care. We had a pretty lovely stay at this central hotel. However, a final unpleasant experience spoiled it. On the last day, I had a meeting from 5pm. I asked both at check-in and the day of the departure, and the lovely staff at the reception offered me to use the lounge room, the nice chap on duty around 11am on Sunday 2nd February even showed me in and put the heating on. In the afternoon, I started my meeting and after a bit popped to the bathroom. On my way back, the staff on duty, Letti, almost shouted at me "you can't use that room". I was confused why, and told her I was told I can do it and that I'm in the middle of an important meeting. She then said that "well it wasn't me who told you can use it" and then she "gracefully" let me go back but said she'll come and kick me out in 30 minutes because she has to set up for next day. She didn't actually come, I believe her task wasn't too urgent, she just enjoyed her little power trip. After my meeting I asked her what was even going on and she said she needed to set up the room for something tomorrow and said "if you want to use it you can pay me £300". It was an absolutely ridiculous encounter. Her attitude was definitely in stark contrast to everyone else working there. Edit: I even got a coffee served in that room and the lovely lady who served me wasn't at all surprised I asked for it there, so it definitely wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Just a little lounge room to use by all guests.
