Cantley House Hotel provides the perfect setting for meetings and conferences offering a number of comfortable and spacious meeting rooms available to hire within our Victorian country house set amongst acres of picturesque Berkshire countryside.
Our six distinguished meeting rooms can accommodate anything from 2 to 120 delegates and whilst our suites retain much of their original charm and grandeur they are also diverse spaces which can cater for the needs of a modern conference or event. The Briar is a sensitively restored 17th century barn which formally functioned as the stables to our main house and is a million miles away from the standard corporate board room. The Briar boasts many charming features such as original oak beams, exposed rafters and a working fire place creating the most quintessentially English setting. The Briar is an extremely versatile function space and can cater for events both large and small. The Briar suite also benefits from having its own private bar facility, concealed dance floor, modern toilets and a peaceful court yard area providing a practical function venue with plenty of rustic charm. This room can accommodate up to 120 guests.

My wife and I recently got married at Cantley House, and we couldn’t have asked for better! The lead up and the day itself was brilliant. We knew as soon as we saw the venue that it was the one for us, and we booked it the same day. We first met with Lara to go through the options and available dates, she was then our point of contact throughout the planning process. She was always on hand to answer any queries and made the planning process very easy. There are a number of different packages to suit all budgets, from large weddings to micro weddings. We opted for the Friday Exclusive - which gave us use of all the bedrooms and the place to ourselves on the day. Our wedding day itself was perfect and everything ran seamlessly with Lara, Diane, Matt and the rest of the team making sure everything was taken care of. They told us they would spoil us, and that’s exactly what they did! We can hand on heart say that nothing made us doubt the Cantley House team throughout the entire experience, they went above and beyond for us and we were absolutely thrilled with how it all went and so grateful for all they did. A very big thank you to them! What a very happy way to start our marriage! On a side note, definitely get down to one of their pizza oven nights!

Amazing experience here. The staff are friendly (special shout out to Maria). Unfortunately some rooms can be closer to the bar so it can get loud. Make sure you book quiet rooms if you want a quieter night. Otherwise absolutely no complaints. Lovely place, lovely location. And I love that they have bibles in each room, thank you!

Was first given room 23 which was v nice. Was moved within 5 mins to a very shabby room 40 because they had forgot about the dog. No drawers for clothes, dirt on door pushes and carpets, paint falling off in both bedroom and bathroom, hard bed, same price. £25 per night for dog.,no breakfasts included...nice location and building but we didn't feel comfortable on our 3 night stay living out of suitcases on the floor!

An old country house in large grounds that need some TLC throughout. Property is probably more suited to events as the confetti on the stairs seems to suggest. Dinner in the stables restaurant was trying to be something that it wasn't and the roast was drowning in a thick brown gloop of a gravy and the cauliflower cheese was cold. Desert was much better. Breakfast spread was enticing and the menu looked great and ordered egg Benedict but the sauce was cold, probably from a bottle and the muffins were also cold. Room was ok although the curtains were very thin and not in keeping with the property. Bathroom was ok but the showers grouting was in urgent need of redoing and a thorough clean was urgently needed.

It’s a shame the review has been massively let down by the stables restaurant. As some other reviews have explained they were overcharged for dinner and refunded half the amount. I have had a similar experience. Booked this hotel and restaurant for my partners birthday. The reception staff, especially Abby, were brilliant and helped decorate my suite + went above and beyond with their customer service. I booked a dinner bed and breakfast and like some others was charged for the full dinner by the pushy manager/man working on the evening of 13 September. I believe his name is Nino and has the cheek to ask me to leave a review so I am leaving one now. He also had the audacity to tell us before we ordered we would just pay for drinks. I did not want to make a scene so just paid and then confirmed with reception what I should have actually paid for. Abby has been helpful in getting some of my money back but I will be contacting my credit card provider to claw back more money and would not recommend eating at the stables although the food is good, it’s incredibly overpriced. It cost me £96.80 for 2 courses each + 1 double drink each.
