Set at the head of Dorking’s famed High Street, amidst the rolling Hills of the North Downs and Surrey’s world-famous Denbies Vineyard Estate, The White Horse was restored to its former Dickensian glory following a £4 million refurbishment in 2018. Combined with 56 en-suite bedrooms, 3 function spaces, extensive dining facilities including The Dozen restaurant and bar concept (inspired by Charles Dickens (who was reported to have written some of the Pickwick papers whilst staying here many years ago) showcases classic cocktails, local ales and wines make it a perfect venue for meetings and events in Surrey.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at The White Horse with the New Years Eve package. The team went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic stay - the rooms were very stylish and comfortable, and all the staff attentive and friendly. The team really nailed it! Thanks again and see you soon! 👍

I've been to this fantastic spot three times now, and every single visit has been a delight! The team here is always so warm and welcoming. I had a 3:30 PM dinner reservation on Sunday, and despite the bustling energy of an event on Dorking High Street, the service remained top-notch—friendly, professional, and simply outstanding. Oh, and the food? Absolutely incredible! It’s such a breath of fresh air to experience customer service done so perfectly. Huge kudos to the amazing crew at White Horse—keep up the awesome work! 🎉👏
Service Review
This establishment offers a refreshing twist on the traditional British pub experience, and that’s precisely what sets it apart. The food is of good quality, with every dish thoughtfully prepared and presented. Service is excellent with attentive and friendly staff ensuring a seamless dining experience. While the pricing leans toward the higher end, the quality of the food and service more than justifies the cost, making it a worthwhile for a memorable outing. The ambiance is clean, quiet, and inviting; perfect for those who prefer a more refined atmosphere. Additionally, the attention to detail extends to the facilities, with clean restrooms stocked with good quality toiletries, which further enhances the overall experience. This is a standout venue that I highly recommend to those seeking an elevated pub experience.

Stayed here overnight. We had booked a snug room which as per description was quite snug! However it was beautifully done, (photos attached) and very comfy. The food here is exceptional, chef knows what they're doing. Am looking forward to returning especially as they're doing half price mains in January. All photos below

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The White Horse in Dorking, and I can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to a beautiful room, which was both stylish and comfortable—perfect for a relaxing stay. The highlight of our visit was joining in the Christmas quiz, which was a fun and festive way to spend the evening. It added such a lively, community feel to the atmosphere. We also enjoyed a couple of delicious cocktails from the bar before sitting down to a fantastic dinner. The food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Overall, our experience at The White Horse was wonderful, and I’ll definitely be returning. Whether you're there for a cozy stay, great food, or a bit of holiday fun, it's the perfect spot in Dorking!
