We spent four days at this hotel. The location is very good, only an 11-minute drive to the international center. The only downside of the hotel is the parking. Since it was the weekend, it was difficult to find a parking space. As we had a fairly large SUV, it was hard to get out of the car because the parking spaces were too narrow — but this is a common problem nowadays, not just at this hotel. We had a well-equipped room with a beautiful view. The bed mattress was too soft for our taste, but that’s a matter of preference. The breakfasts at the hotel were typical British style, tasty and fresh. As Europeans, we prefer a different type of breakfast — something lighter, like sliced cheese, cold cuts, and fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, or peppers would be ideal. Every day we had access to fresh bread, croissants, and sweet pastries — delightful. The hotel staff were helpful and very friendly. I had the opportunity to use the pool and sauna. Highly recommended. It was a very relaxing stay.

Another fantastic, relaxing stay at this hotel. Staff are welcoming, polite and helpful in every area of the hotel. Many of the staff are the same as when we last stayed a year ago, which I think says a lot about the team here! Spacious, clean and very comfortable room, huge comfy bed! Only ate breakfast which offered a great choice of tasty, decent quality food. Gym and pool area are clean and well equipped. The only negative is that the steam room was out of order. The sauna is a good size . Great location for exploring the historic area either in foot ( well sign posted, footpath network) or by car.

Booked the "tea time and me time" package and it was amazing. We had Beth and Jess to do our treatments and they were both so lovely and our treatments were so nice, thank you both! Afternoon tea was delicious, plentiful and the ladies in the Gorge were so helpful and kind. All staff we interacted with including reception and pool staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The pool area and facilities were good too. A very relaxing day enjoyed by both me and my mom. Thank you everyone and will see you again soon!

Stayed for 4 nights. Firstly, the staff are just lovely. Friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a bit jaded but decent enough. Food is overpriced for what you get and the hotel management believe that a wait of 90 minutes on a pre-ordered menu is acceptable, stating, "we work to a 1 hour 30 minute service window for pre-orders, and I am confident we consistently meet this." I can't really believe that any restaurant feels it's acceptable that customers wait for up to 90 minutes when their choices have been given in advance. The food is OK but not worth the price. One of my meals actually had two frozen sides (not just cold, frozen). Staff were apologetic and Reception offered to have food sent to my room. By this time it was 21:40 (we sat down for dinner at 20:00 and my meal arrived at 21:20). I was no longer hungry and was incredibly tired. I needed to get up for 06:00 so had no intentions on waiting another 90 minutes and trying to sleep on a full stomach. On another evening, my order was wrong and they informed me they'd run out of my choice (despite this being ordered in advance). They did address this and offered me a replacement (which meant I had to wait whilst my dinner companions ate), and a complimentary drink. I used the pool twice. Floors are incredibly slippy. Water in the pool didn't seem very clean. Very strong chlorine smell and I couldn't see the bottom of the pool wearing goggles. As I said at the start, the staff are great. The rest...meh! I was there for work. Would I pay to stay for a leisure trip? No.

Stayed for the 2 night spa package. Front desk very friendly upon arrival however we go to the room to find the batteries are dead in the remote and TV unplugged. (Not the end of the world but an expectation that guests should not have to phone down to reception to have the basics sorted). Shampoo and conditioner is not provided has to be purchased. Pool is nice albeit a bit cold but kids everywhere and very noisy, kind of defeats relaxing in the sauna. The restaurant - extremely overpriced. The lamb is nice but a very small portion, burger dry and chicken Caesar salad for £20 with dry chicken is disappointing to say the least. Bar manned with one member of staff on a busy evening with long wait times. We ate outside at six and stayed outside until 9 and our finished plates amongst other tables were there the whole time. The spa itself is hit and miss I had a great massage but my partner not so good. But nice and relaxing none the less. Overall we want to like the hotel as the staff are nice but it is outdated and I presume the focus is primarily on the golf course. P.s breakfast was great and they do fried bread!! Takes it from a 1 star to a 2
