Set in beautiful, landscaped gardens near Halifax, West Yorkshire, the 380-year-old Jacobean house has long been one of Yorkshire's most-loved venues for meetings and events.
Holdsworth House really is totally unique and wonderfully photogenic, having featured on TV numerous times. The four star hotel is packed with interesting and historic features, and is traditionally styled with wood-panelled halls, beamed ceilings and furnished with antiques, paintings and tapestries.
Holdsworth House is well known for running successful events and for its award-winning food.
There are five rooms available for events up to 120 guests, including The Gazebo. The Stuart Room can accommodate up to 120-seated guests and 150 for an evening party. You can even run events outdoors in the beautiful Colonnade Courtyard or on the lawns or patios.
Holdsworth House has 33 ensuite bedrooms for overnight stays.
The manor is independently owned and for over 50 years and is flexible to most guests' needs.

July 2024Good stay and good food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Decor a bit faded and worn carpets though. Also a weird location for a country house hotel as our bedroom window looked straight down into the messy back garden of a modern housing estate. Lots of lovely period features though and a pretty front garden.

June 2024I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We looked at over 30 wedding venues and from the moment we walked through the door they were absolutely perfect! Staff were so attentive, nothing we had in mind phased them, we have fussy eaters and usually would be difficult to pick a menu to suit everyone, they allowed us to tailor it as needed. Food was good, clean plates all round! We got married outside in the garden, thankfully the weather was gorgeous and the photos looked amazing! Rooms were comfortable, perfect falling distance after a long day! We had so many people tell us it was the best wedding ever. Hidden gem!

August 2024Went for afternoon tea to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. All the staff were very attentive ,and friendly. We were offered a drink for both of us for our anniversary so felt special and enjoyed the lovely gardens to sit in the lovely weather.

July 2024My wife and I recently had our wedding here and could not recommend it more highly. The majority of our guests stayed and all were beyond blown away by every single part of our wedding and also their rooms. The food the night before from the restaurant was delicious, we were incredibly well looked after. The day of the wedding the staff couldnt have been more accommodating, calming our nerves, setting up our decorations, even ensuring we both had food and drinks beforehand! The venue is absolutely exceptional, there was garden staff seen outside both days tending to the grounds which were in pristine conditions. I cannot express how well the staff treated us, we had zero worries the entire day and I 100% give them full credit. Every person we dealt with were incredible. Thank you so so much Holdsworth House for giving us the perfect day, you all went above and beyond for us and we couldn’t be more grateful. We will forever be paying you all the highest compliments when we talk about our big day. I can’t remember her name to save my life but the woman who ran the wedding for us from the morning till the end, thank you thank you thank you, for everything and all your kind words. I hope you took home enough cake!

August 2024A lovely couple of days break. Fascinating building, interior and beautiful gardens. We loved our Executive Suite room. Like home from home. Excellent, welcoming, charming service from everyone at the hotel. Lovely food. We really enjoyed breakfast.
