I love staying here, I take myself for a solo evening to relax every so often, the staff are really friendly but seem massively over stretched, flitting between the bar and check-in and seeming frustrated when doing so, the male that I checked in with on Sunday afternoon, was polite but kept huffing and puffing, I felt like a bit of an inconvenience. There had been a big wedding when I arrived and seemingly the wedding guests thought it was fine to be running up and down the corridor, knocking on each others doors at gone 2am, not the hotels fault however but inconsiderate nonetheless. Room service was brilliant, the food was unreal. The beds are incredibly comfy with lovely fresh laundered sheets, made full use of the bath too which runs lovely and hot. Can't wait for my next stay!

I had an amazing experience .From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the entire hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We attended an event there, and I was really impressed with how beautifully the event hall was arranged. It looked stunning and was set up perfectly for the occasion. The food served was delicious—every dish was full of flavour and presented with care. The service stood out the most. Staff were polite, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. You could tell they genuinely cared about making the event and our stay enjoyable. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, whether for another event or just a relaxing getaway.

Lovely hotel in splendid location. Service was exceptional. Johnson Samuel is a delightful host who made us feel we were breakfasting with family! Food was good, and worth the breakfast charge. A good team keeps this vintage hotel ticking in time today. Well done.

We stay at this hotel regularly when up in Yorkshire. It is in a good location with ample parking. The staff are all very polite. Breakfast is buffet style. Eat as much as you want. Good selection. Shout out to the new guy on reception,Dee, who was ultra polite, helpful and efficient. However, note to management- why oh why have you moved reception from the entrance foyer into the bar? When there are guests talking in the bar and the tv is on it is really difficult to concentrate and hear the receptionist.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and had a really pleasant experience! The receptionist, Dee, was absolutely brilliant – friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. He was on reception most of the time I was there and always greeted me with a smile, whether I had a question or needed a wake-up call. He really made a great impression. The room had everything I needed – a double bed and a single bed, a desk, TV, bathroom, wardrobe, and even a desk fan. It was clean, well looked after, and the beds were super comfy – I had no trouble falling asleep at all. I only had one meal during my stay (dinner/tea), and while the burger was tasty – rich and juicy – I did feel it was a bit overpriced at £16 for just the burger, chips, and a side salad. I also had a bottle of Corona, which was £5.25, though I got it as a welcome drink, which was a nice touch. The drink selection is a little limited, but that’s understandable since it’s a hotel, not a pub. Checkout was really easy – I just dropped my room card in the box and was on my way. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel. It’s in a great location, close to nearby towns, cities, and the airport, and the service – especially from Dee – made the stay feel extra welcoming.
