Our third time staying at this hotel. Suits us very well with accommodation, cost and location. The desk staff are always pleasant and welcoming. The hotel it's self is a little dated however it is always clean and well maintained. House keeping staff are pleasant and accommodate all requests. Will be back.

A chain hotel that accommodates dogs ! 😁 Very happy with our stay. Clean and comfortable rooms ( very sizeable beds for very tall people) Breakfast is self serve affair most days , to order on others. Good selection. Dogs may sit with you in lobby during breakfast or be left in room for breakfast if well behaved alone. Good motorway access, cannot hear traffic from rooms. Nearby a quiet estate , corner shop 15 min walk, entertainment place 5 min away. 1 or 2 other hotels of similar calibre nearby. Breakfast room becomes a bar and grill in the eve. Only things to note: -is to call on advance if arriving early as check in is quite late at 3pm. -tv wasn't connecting to freeview in room 319; not massive issue for us as only needed for background noise (weren't in the hotel much) , so we did not raise this.

We live down South now and stop in the Holiday Inn Washington when we come up home to visit. Very handy. Just off the A1 Washington exit, but not close enough to be bothered by car noises. Prices always competitive and includes breakfast Rooms are very clean, but slightly basic. Comfortable bed. But its not meant to be a long term holiday destination. The bathrooms are modern and very clean. It's worthwhile going for breakfast. Loads of food on the go, its freshly cooked. .Zero complaints about breakfast. Plenty of safe on site parking. Never had a problem with loud noises or idiots running up and down the corridors in the middle of the night. Only negative regarding our latest visit was the temperature in the room. I know its winter, and its good that they want to keep you warm They must be forking out thousands on their gas bills. Absolutely sweltering. And although he thermostat was set to only 18 the radiators were piping hot. It made the room a bit too hot. All said its a very decent place. Staff are all professional and very friendly. Great for short stays. But please just turn the heating down a touch .

Room was far too hot, yes it’s winter and it’s nice to have warmth but it was so uncomfortable. TV initially didn’t work and after it had apparently been fixed it worked for 10 minutes then switched off and had to be unplugged/reset in order to get another 10 minutes viewing before process needed repeating. Sofa bed was not the best and room was basic but for a short stay I suppose it was ok. Bar man (forgotten his name) was very friendly and helpful. Overall improvement needed but served a purpose mainly due to location

Isolated setting. Could be good if you don't need to go anywhere else during your stay. Good check in, nice room and reasonable price with free parking on this occasion. On the bad side, this is the only Holiday Inn where I was forced to go hungry. No gluten free food. This was a shock as all the others I've stayed at provided a few different options. In Derby and Chester the staff made a point of bringing gluten free toast to my table at breakfast. Not here. When I asked about gluten free options, I might as well have told the Waiter I had leprosy, Ebola and Rabies. So I was forced to go without any evening meal. I wouldn't dare ask again after this experience. I'm wheat intolerant. Its a medical condition that was forced upon me. Not sure the staff really understood here, surprisingly enough.
