About Venue
The 1896 Studios & Stages is a striking industrial venue in Bushwick, Brooklyn, built within a series of historic warehouses that date back to—you guessed it—1896. With its original factory patina, soaring clerestory ceilings, and mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, it’s a one-of-a-kind setting that brings grit, history, and raw creative energy to every event.
This venue is a brilliant choice for photo shoots, film productions, brand activations, and big-ticket events that need space to breathe and freedom to design. It’s especially loved by producers and creative teams looking for something large-scale and visually unforgettable. Whether you're planning an immersive experience, a pop-up showcase, or a milestone celebration, the flexible layout lets you fully take over and make it your own.
Alongside the cinematic atmosphere and vast open areas, The 1896 also offers thoughtful perks that make hosting easier like on-site dressing rooms, power access, and easy load-in options. The venue is fully private, and the team is happy to support with planning guidance or vendor coordination if needed.

Super versatile, clean but unique turn of the century warehouse spaces. Requires a DOB TPA and NY SLA liquor license permitting, but both are easy to get for the location. Staff is responsive, helpful and friendly.

Cool spot, multiple rooms, and outdoor space. Saw some of my favorite djs here, felt safe and comfortable spending the night dancing away, shout out Katerblau

We've held events at 1896 Studios and Stages twice now and the space is phenomenal and the team is extremely helpful, accommodating, and just GREAT. Probably one of my favorite venues to host events at. Would really recommend booking the venue for anything you need.

Cool space for sure but be warned that there are no indoor bathrooms! Very important information for winter shows

One of the worst concert venues I’ve ever been to, maybe the worst. Had been looking forward to the Drab Majesty show for months and the 1896’s sound was abysmal, zero treble, microphones squeaking awfully full of feedback, could barely even hear the band somehow. Halfway through the set the band adapted to the sonic conditions and turned out a great set, which they always do. Also, Bafflingly, ZERO bathrooms, had us waiting for 30+ minutes to use port-o-potties in the freezing cold. Zero places to sit indoors, dark, cavernous, cold with random spots of blasting dry heat from industrial ceiling fans, and the bar claimed to be unable to provide any change. It was honestly DEGRADING being there and having been charged official venue ticket prices for what ultimately felt like a deceptive bait and switch venue cash grab.
