We needed an overnight stopover between a UK domestic flight and an international flight the next day. The Sofitel Heathrow is connected to Terminal 5 making it a seamless option. It was a short interior walk from T5 to the hotel and traveling onward the next day (from T5 to T2) was also easy (we used the Tube which is a better option to T2 versus the Heathrow Express given the T2 tube station is much closer to the terminal. The pleasant surprise was how nice this property is. The hotel is smartly decorated and spotless. The rooms were large, comfortable, and quiet. Restaurant selection offered everything from "pub fare" to fine dining. While we did not use the spa, it appeared to be well appointed and offered extensive treatments. The Sofitel Heathrow is a wonderful hotel and we look forward to returning.

Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. Coming straight from LA, we just needed a place to rest before our next morning flight, and this was perfect. Breakfast was outstanding — easily one of the best I’ve had. I would definitely recommend it. The only downside was dinner the night before: the restaurant didn’t have many tables available, so we had to sit at a low couch-style table, which made eating a bit uncomfortable.

Wowsers! What an absolutely delightful experience from checkin to checkout. My only negative is that we only had 2 nights here!!! Completely on me not the hotel. Checkin was a breeze with the incredibly efficient, kind and thoughtful reception staff member, Dhruv. It was very late and we were shattered. He offered additional services including a room upgrade and breakfast that simply put the icing on the cake for our stay. The facilities were immaculate. The service attentive, friendly and just the right balance. The train into London and Heathrow Terminal 5 easily accessible. Breakfast was entertaining (those omelettes), extensive and delicious. It set us up for the day starting with a delicious, healthy breakfast. I will be booking Sofitel Heathrow for future visits to London. Experts in quality. Thank you.

How old is this Sofitel? Well, it hasn't been re-appointed since having a telephone by the toilet was fancy. Or having a 12-inch "Videotree" screen embedded in the bathroom mirror, overlooking the bathtub. This hotel was cool when Blackberrys were cool. What it lacks in modernity is balanced by the sheer convenience of location to T5, assuming you are here for a layover. The service is competent. The mattress is comfortable. The breakfast buffet is extensive. The Sphere Bar is perhaps the most hilariously misnamed spot I've ever seen, though. I don't think it's possible for that space to be more cuboid. The whole hotel is a rectilinear nest of boxes. Not a bent line in sight.

The 1990s called and they want their hotel back. No electrical outlets near the nightstand unless you unplug the lamp, but there is an Ethernet port. Bathroom also dated - the shower water flows almost straight down the wall. The room is small. Absurdly expensive. Still, a great option for an overnight layover or early departure, even for other terminals. Breakfast buffet is copious. Dinner was tasty and not too expensive but the beer selection is woeful. Staff were always helpful and courteous.
