Overlooking one of Edinburgh’s prettiest private garden squares, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel consists of seven inter-connecting Georgian townhouses in the heart of the New Town, a UNESCO world heritage site.

It has undergone a multi-million restoration and refurbishment: all of our bedrooms and suites have been given a smart, new look, inspired by the golden age of travel and a genuine sense of Scottish hospitality.

Our beautiful internal courtyard, The Garden — an oasis of calm with a glass roof — is now open from breakfast through to the wee hours. Inspired by the flavours of the Eastern Mediterranean, our new restaurant, BABA is brought to you by the team behind Glasgow’s award-winning Ox and Finch restaurant.

Free, superfast Wi-Fi with a maximum bandwidth of 100Mb is available throughout the hotel.

I had a lovely stay at Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel. The hotel was excellent — beautifully designed, clean, and very comfortable. The room had a modern and stylish touch, making it feel both cozy and elegant. The location is also perfect, close to the city center but still quiet and relaxing. I really appreciated that the hotel has more than one restaurant, offering great variety and quality. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

One of the loveliest hotels we’ve stayed at! Ideal location, amazing staff and beautiful interiors. Our morning coffee in the garden solarium was the perfect way to start the day and cocktails at the bar helped us wind down after a fabulous day in such a beautiful city. We were even surprised with a dessert tray provided by the hotel staff as a thank you. Trust us and stay here. You won’t regret it.

The hotel itself is stunning, with beautifully styled rooms that blend historic charm with modern comfort. My room was spacious, spotless, and had all the little luxury touches that make a stay special. The breakfast was exceptional, with fresh, high-quality options to suit every taste, and the courtyard dining space is simply magical. The location couldn’t be better—steps from Princes Street yet peaceful and relaxing inside. This hotel truly exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return!.

Just a fabulous experience from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful and stylish but what really sets it apart is the impeccable service and amazing staff. From the concierge to receptionists, bellhop and waiters everyone was warm, friendly and showed genuine interest in our trip. It really made our visit feel so much more personal and special. We can’t wait to return.

The location of the hotel is perfect, the staff also was very polite and helpful. I am not sure how the Hotel is classified as 5 Star Hotel! The rooms were under impressive by all means, small, tight, and dimm. The bathroom was also pretty small. The food quality was average (for a 5 star hotel) and the breakfast buffet didn't meet the expectations (even they were not high). On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the staff members were really nice.
