One of my favourite places. As a member I would highly recommend it. Beautiful place, place to relax, have something to eat and great service. Motto "Kindness don't cost anything"

Brilliant place to visit, with one side of the site more of a visitor attraction with otters and lots of non-native birds, while the other side is more of a classic bird reserve. Lots of facilities and seemed very accessible. Join a guided walk if you're not a super experienced birdwatcher, and you can hire binoculars for a fiver (with a £50 deposit that gets returned).

It’s quite expensive to get in and the cafe is very expensive, so you’d be better to take a packed lunch as there’s plenty of pretty places to sit and eat throughout the site. I was taken aback by how many areas were closed, especially considering it’s spring and you’d expect everything to be open - or at least to be warned on the website or when buying tickets that some areas would be unavailable. Felt a little cheeky to not be warned. Given the environment, there were a lot of different wild species across the site but I was surprised to learn afterwards that some of the more unusual ones had clipped wings and were more there as part of a ‘zoo.’ This was highly disappointing. Whilst the otters were cute, they seemed a little stressed with the amount of children screeching near them too. The hides themselves are well positioned and peaceful, but that calm was often broken by children running through habitats with no one from the Wetlands around to step in to protect the wildlife or habitats (when the parents didn’t bother to, which they very rarely did.) On the positive side, the few volunteers counting birds that we did meet within some hides were lovely and clearly passionate about the place. Overall, I found the Wetland Centre a mixed experience. It’s interesting if you like to see birds, but not without its issues.

WWT London Wetland Centre is a beautiful and peaceful escape in the middle of London. The walkways, lakes, and wildlife hides make it a lovely place to slow down and enjoy nature, with plenty of birds and other wildlife to spot. It’s great for families, photographers, or anyone who enjoys a quiet outdoor day. The centre is well maintained, easy to explore, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, a relaxing and unique place to visit, especially if you want a break from the city.
