Our Newgate Suite is a fully flexible, modern conference, events and exhibition space, which features multiple interconnecting whiteboard walls for creative use, and can be divided into four meeting or breakout spaces: Aldgate, Bishopsgate, Cripplegate, Dowgate. Fun fact - we’ve taken these names from the original seven gates which date back to Roman times and were the only access points when a wall encircled the City of London.

Cancellation policy
In the event that the Hirer cancels or otherwise terminates this Agreement for any reason between the signing of this Agreement and 84 days before the start of the Hire Period the Hirer will be liable to pay immediately 50% of the Fees. In the event that the Hirer cancels the Event, or otherwise terminates this Agreement for any reason less than 83 days before the start of the Hire Period, the Hirer will be required to pay immediately to The Mermaid 75% of the Fees. 3.8 In the event that the Hirer cancels the Event, or otherwise terminates this Agreement for any reason 28 days or less before the start of the Hire Period, the Hirer will be required to pay immediately to The Mermaid 100% of the Fees.

Had our company's christmas event here. Spacious auditorium and backstage area where food & drink were served. Facilities were satisfactory and it is pretty easy to get to.

Quite easy to find. Accessible. 3 lifts. Decent toilets. Enjoyed my 2 day conference and training. From Blackfriars stn turn right then immediately right again. 60/80 Meters there's a small underpass

I have been here on a number of occasions for conferences. It's well equipped, things seem to run smoothly and provide everything that you would expect. The lunches are good and this time had gluten free options for mains, but not desert. The cookies at breaks looked delicious though no no gluten free choice, so I had to settle for healthy, fruit option. They really looked after my waistline! The staff are friendly and helpful.

The staff seemed to be intent on preventing delegates from doing things: e.g. "you can only have one type of food on your plate". Thankfully on the second day of the event this was no longer the policy. No coffee available at noon and nowhere to procure it on site (absolute showstopper for some of us).
