Absolutely amazing restaurant, one of my new favourites!! I had the premium post theatre menu and it was amazing. It started with a spinach dish that I devoured before getting a picture. It was delicious and had a great sesame dressing. Then came a series of small dishes including a delicious tuna tartare (it was one of the best i’ve ever had), alongside some premium sashimi. Lastly I got the black cod and my partner got the beef. Both were excellent. Service was incredible as well. A wonderfully kind waiter called Kuba helped us throughout the night and we had the best possible dinner. He helped us when we had questions (including what sake to order and what desert to pick) and we had a lovely conversation about the world. Had a stellar night and definitely will be coming back

I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Roka Charlotte Street! From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of energy and elegance. The food, as always, was phenomenal—fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. Every dish we ordered was a highlight, but the black cod and robata grill selections were next level. What truly made our evening exceptional, though, was the impeccable service from Nachiketa. They were incredibly attentive without ever being intrusive, striking the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. Nachiketa took the time to walk us through the menu, offer thoughtful recommendations, and ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Their knowledge, genuine enthusiasm, and care elevated the entire experience. Thank you, Roka, and especially Nachiketa, for a memorable night—we’ll definitely be back soon!

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience at Roka. We went there to try their 108£ (per person) premium tasting menu and I’m not sure if it was because it’s Saturday afternoon - after brunch hours and the staff was tired - or for what it was but the service was underwhelming. The person that got our order was rude, and when bringing the food, there was no explanation of what was on the plate, no asking how the food was or anything that would be close to what would be expected by a premium experience (I have been better served in a fast food chain restaurant). With the food itself, there was some plates with great flavour(like the yellowtail sashimi with yuzu-truffle dressing) but in general wasn’t what you would expect from a over 200£ meal, plus the quantity was barely enough to call it a tasting (i.e. one small gyoza per person and max of two pieces on the other). There was no specific drinks suggestion with the food itself when asked. After 17h30, the restaurant wasn’t full but the food took way too long to come to the table, with an average of 20 minutes between each small portions. The only good portion was the “desert” that was mainly fruit on ice but which could be seen that was not fresh fruit (it was cold but not fresh). Unfortunately is not a restaurant for coming back and would need to advice everyone to avoid it.
