Hotel Cafe Royal, Mayfair

Afternoon tea with my wife in the sumptuous Cafe Royal in Picadilly, London. Absolutely stunning room where such luminaries as Oscar Wilde, Winston Churchill and others regularly took afternoon tea but by far the most important, for me personally, was the legendary David Bowie. And afternoon tea there at time of writing is themed around this man. It was sublime and even the scones had ziggy Stardust faces placed on them. The food and service was amazing a d nothing was too much trouble for them. They even gave my wife some birthday treats on a plate that had happy birthday handwritten on it in chocolate. A brilliant experience and one to do if In London. Book about a month in advance.

A great Hotel, good mix of traditional and modern interior with spacious rooms, comfortable beds and all room amenities you can need. The service is top notch, friendly, attentive, welcoming and costumer centric making it very relaxing and pleasant. A great gym and Spa facility with a big indoor pool and all that right in the centre of London the perfect location for exploring regent and oxford street.

Wow. Such a beautiful hotel but what makes the experience even more special is all the staff who are absolutely world class. They really go above and beyond and having travelled across the world and stayed at many luxury hotels, we’ve never experienced such exceptional service. From housekeeping, front of house, in room dining, to concierge, everyone is so well trained, goes above and beyond to make the experience special and luxurious, and they really think of every detail so you are incredibly well looked after. Special thank you to Ali, Alfaz, Markund and Laura who really are all an asset to the hotel. Service like this is so hard to come by; personal, thoughtful and friendly. Highly recommend!
