About Venue
The Horniman at Hays is a Nicholson's pub inside Hays Galleria on the South Bank, set in a former brew-house and tea warehouse dating back to the 17th century, with two private hire spaces and one of the most characterful pub interiors in London Bridge.
The building has a genuine sense of history. The pub sits on the site of the warehouse once owned by Frederick Horniman, a famous Victorian tea dealer, and the interior friezes depicting his travels to Africa, India, and the Americas still line the walls. A glorious centrepiece staircase, marble countertops, antique wall clock, tufted leather chairs, and stained glass panels give it a warmth and detail that feels like it has been there for a very long time. The Mezzanine sits elevated above the main bar, looking down into the pub below, while the Wharfside Bar downstairs is a self-contained, fully private space with its own entrance, its own bar, and its own bathrooms. Views of the Thames, HMS Belfast, and the City skyline are visible from both spaces.
HMS Belfast is directly opposite, London Bridge and Borough Market are a short walk away, and Tower Bridge is nearby. The venue is a five-minute walk from London Bridge station. No on-site parking. Please note that neither hire space has lift access and both are only accessible via stairs.
