The Royal Oak

Went for a family birthday party. The scenery looks nice but unfortunately the smell from the water treatment works put me off my food. The 3 stars for atmosphere is mostly because of this. The food itself was delicious until I got a waft from the smell in the air outside. I live fairly locally so I know that it’s more of an issue in hot weather. The pub itself looked nice and service at the bar was quick. I was a bit surprised that one of the serving staff asked us to pile up the plates and pass them down to her and she kept asking us to pass her glasses. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.
