I can't comment on the rooms as our visits so far have been spa days and did not involve overnight stays. I'd say the spa offers good value for money and there is a good variety of spa facilities. The massage treatment was by far better than at a far more expensive spa I'd visited back in September. The customer service at the spa is amazing, especially from Sarah who we found to be extremely personable, empathetic and with brilliant initiative, going above and beyond to accommodate myself and my husband to ensure we enjoyed our spa day and when we had to cut our spa day short due to a family emergency. We felt very welcome and would definitely visit again.

I visited with my partner for a spa day and we were both pretty impressed. My treatment was done by Emma, who was really lovely, made me feel comfortable and gave the best facial/massage I have had. There are plenty of rooms to use, steam/sauna etc. Reception staff are very welcoming and polite. My only criticism is with the spa itself which could do with a bit of minor maintenance but overall we walked away like we got what we paid for and refreshed.

The old section of the hotel is full of charm, but it seems most of the standard rooms are in the modern conference centre annex. This section of the hotel has a far more low budget look and feel. The room decor was tired with sections of paint missing from the bathroom door and an ill fitting sink. The beds were comfy and the blackout curtains were welcome. The food at dinner and breakfast was good, with a decent selection for OK prices. The complimentary Prosecco that came with our booking was served with dinner, which I was sad about as I wanted red wine and would have preferred the Prosecco in the room as advertised. The reception staff seemed stressed and although they were very helpful I felt rushed. Dinner was also rushed, with staff setting up the breakfast tables around us, despite only having two courses and our booking being half an hour before the cut off time. I hate to think of how it would have been if we were half an hour later. The grounds and Spa are nice, but a little tired around the edges. The whole place could do with a bit of a facelift and it would be amazing. As it stands if we hadn’t got a special deal I would have been disappointed.

I visited the spa section last minute due to another spa location having maintenance issue. Booking was very easy and the reception staff in the spa were very friendly and helpful. I booked for x3 people and booked a spa package to include 4hrs of spa facilities and a 25min massage each (all spa packages come with a robe, towel, slippers). This package was £136 however I paid £70 each due to it being on a special offer. It has very limited spa facilities (sauna, pool, hydro-pool). The 25min massage which felt more like 15mins after they get you to fill out a form and then take you into the room. The massage provided was basic and despite filling out the form stating what areas you wanted focused on was ignored. The next day after using the spa facilities I have a massive breakout with my skin. The Hydro-pool which is mainly outside has lots of dirty, dead bugs and leafs floating in. I didn't stay at the hotel so cannot comment on the rooms or dining facilities however the spa section I would not recommend. There is lots of parking on site however the gates are coded to get out to which we weren't informed of what the code was or that we needed one to get out when we left which should have been noted on the booking confirmation email. I would never pay £70 per person for this again let alone £136. If facilities including the massages were improved to match the price they're asking it might be worth the money.
