About Venue

Set in 6 acres of gardens, this hotel and conference centre is a 19th-century mansion house is less than a mile from Darwen and 2.4 miles from the M65 motorway.

The main house offers elegant traditional rooms with original features, some with spa baths and garden views. Rooms in the garden wing have more contemporary-style furniture, and all have tea and coffee making facilities.

We have eight conference rooms and well managed wi-fi facilities. The conference rooms have available various technologies required for training and other business needs.

We called in for a quiet dinner to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary, (and we're having a renewal of vows service here next year!) and every course of our dinner was absolutely delicious. The staff here are polite and friendly, and the service is superb. A real asset to the hotel. We can't wait to have our celebration here next year!

If I could give 0 stars I honestly would. This place and their staff are absolutely AWFUL!!! Brides, please stay far, far away from this place — they completely ruined my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding day. They had booked a room and spoke to a lady three different times to confirm they could take pictures there. They turned up on the day — their actual wedding day — only to be denied entry. The concierge lady was unbelievably rude, with zero compassion or understanding. Imagine that, you’re in your wedding outfits, full of excitement, and you’re met with disrespect and arrogance. It was heartbreaking to witness. They were left upset and in tears. This place should be ashamed. Awful staff, awful service, awful experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, ever.

Booked in for my nans 90th party they double booked a 50th party ruining the atmosphere for the event. They also blared music so loud I couldn't hear the TV in my room. It's currently midnight and it's just stopped, haven't been able to sleep at all kept the kids up etc. I'm all for a party but the DJ may as well have been in my room the volume they played it at. Besides the noise my auntie had to repeatedly get water etc for the table no one came and asked if we needed anything the only the thing staff did was clear plates. All around bad experience would not recommend to anyone

Absolutely shocking!! Never a 4 star hotel, room was filthy and only one light bulb working out of 5 in the room, Shower no pressure and cold. Rubbish all over floors on stairs up to room. All staff sat on phones behind reception didnt seem bothered about anything apart from the wedding that was on. Breakfast was cold very little choice. Don't get me wrong I wasn't expecting the ritz for £100 for the night but ive stayed in hostels with better standards.. Never again!!
