Definitely not a 5 star hotel…! The room was pretty small and with low ceiling, without proper windows and not as shown in the pictures. We booked a Deluxe Double room and got a small tiny room about any light coming from the window as I was sealed. In the description it points that the windows open partially but it was not possible. Very claustrophobic. Not recommended...!

Would avoid this hotel if you're visiting London. Was staying here with many work colleagues and it seemed we all universally had similar issues .. Cons: The rooms are very small - but not unusual for Europe (as a North American). There was no place to put my toiletries like my tooth brush etc - I had to put them on the small desk outside of the bathroom which was weird. I also didn't have a luggage stand and with there being really no other space to put my luggage, had to leave it on the floor all week. My shower has one setting - fire. There didn't matter which way I adjusted the temperature, it never changed - just very hot. They gave me an accessibility room, which makes this even more concerning and a safety hazard. The sink in the bathroom also was loose and very difficult to turn on (wasn't table to turn the tap on with one hand). Also odd considering again, I was in an accessibility room and this would be difficult for anyone who may not have full mobility. On the last night, the front desk called my room after 11pm to see if I wanted to arrange a car for the airport. This woke up me and was incredibly inconsiderate of the front desk staff. I had a view of literally nothing out of the small window in the room, making my room feel very dark and confined. The pros - Location. I also found the breakfast in the hotel to be quite decent. Overall, I'd avoid this hotel and definitely wouldn't consider it again next time I visit London. Many may wonder why I didn't call down and change rooms, it was mainly because most of the colleagues I also had staying in this hotel all had the same complaints - many complained that their rooms were freezing cold, while mine was actually quite warm. Felt changing rooms probably wouldn't have done much other than introduce additional problems.

The service at this hotel is what prompts me to give it 5 stars. Don’t stay at the barbican roooms across the street. It’s night and day. comfortable rooms and attentive staff. Rooms themselves are a bit scuffed and worse for wear but we paying a reasonable amount per night so the value makes up for it.

This is the worst hotel experience I've had in a very long time. The fact that they advertise this is a "5-star hotel" is frankly disrespectful. I would rank this hotel as "slightly above a run-down motel in the wrong side of town", and that's being generous. Here's a list of all the problems we had: - When I booked my reservation through my travel agency I explicitly requested a 9am early check-in. I made sure they had noted that in the reservation. We flew on a red-eye to London and got to the hotel at 8am, and they said our room wouldn't be ready until 3pm. I said that wouldn't work for us and they said they would look for a room and call me soon, so I went ahead and paid. We went for breakfast and they never called. We went back to the front desk at 10am and I asked if our room was ready yet. They said no, and that I would need to wait until 3pm. I very politely said that wouldn't work for me and we were going to a different hotel, and that I wanted a full refund since they didn't honor my reservation. Guess what happened next? Yes, they suddenly "found" a room! Unbelievable. The fact that they lied like that to my face saying that there were no rooms available only to find one when I said we were leaving should have made me run away immediately. - We finally get a room and fall asleep immediately. Then a couple hours later I wake up, freezing. I try to turn up the heat, but the thermostat is not working. Turns out the heater in this "5-star" hotel doesn't work in the middle of the winter! I call the front desk and a maintenance guy eventually comes and checks it out, and says it will take a couple days to fix it. What? I then call the front desk and say we need a new room. They ask to pack our things and say someone will come soon to take us to the new room. Of course, we wait one hour with our jackets on inside our hotel room and no one ever comes. So I call again, this time upset, and say this is really not working for us and we want to leave. Guess what, suddenly their colleague is on our way to our room, again! - We get the new room. It is warm. I check the lights and it looks like everything is working. I'm happy. Then at 10pm I'm getting ready for bed. I go to the bathroom and flush the toilet. Guess what happens next... The toilet starts leaking water into the bowl non-stop and it becomes impossible to flush it! Pressing the flush button just does nothing. I don't want to call maintenance because I need to wake up early for business meetings, so I go to bed and try to meditate to the continuous sound of running water in the toilet bowl the entire night. At least they were able to fix it the next day. But then it happened again 2 more times during our stay! Frankly I feel completely cheated and scammed. This hotel should at least give us a 50% refund because it was honestly embarrassing.

came for our fourth stay arrived late Friday night and got to the room the bed wasn't as sold but was tired made do. the next day my partner asked at reception if there's anything they could do as we have stayed before and told them when we came they looked it up and regardless of our stay before the wave of help and customer service was overwhelming even trying to give us that room but do to an air condition problem couldn't but the man on reception took it upon himself to locate and let us choose a room with a large bed. The customer service at this hotel in my opinion is second to none. this will always be my first choice to try and book every time
