The Best Conference Venues in Glasgow

Conference Venues in Glasgow

Glasgow has conference spaces for a wide range of events. For a larger event with a classic, upmarket feel, a hotel ballroom is one of the more elegant settings in the city. Modern co-working spaces work well in theatre style for conferences, and old warehouses give you a more characterful backdrop. If you'd like something with history, the Glasgow University Union is a listed building in the West End, and a couple of cinemas rent out screens for more informal business events. If your group is smaller, take a look at our Glasgow meeting rooms.

Where to Hold a Conference in Glasgow

The city centre keeps most things close together, and Merchant City is a short walk from St Enoch and Buchanan Street Subway stations, which makes it a good bet for delegates arriving from overseas. The West End, home to the University of Glasgow, is known for its independent bars and restaurants. Looking at other events in the city? Our venue hire in Glasgow page covers them too.

A City with Plenty to Look At

Glasgow's old stone Victorian buildings give way to metal and glass as you move into the financial district, and newer buildings like the Glasgow Science Centre are more futuristic. Many venues have views over the River Clyde, so delegates get something to look at between sessions.

Getting to a Glasgow Conference

Glasgow Airport is about half an hour from the city centre, with an Airport Express bus from Buchanan Street, which suits delegates flying in. By rail, Glasgow Central has direct trains to London Euston, with typical journeys of around five hours, and Queen Street serves Edinburgh and the north. Once delegates arrive, the Subway is the easy way around: opened in 1896, it's the third-oldest underground in the world, with a single circle of 15 stations through the city centre and the West End.
