About Venue
The Colonel Fawcett restaurant and pub in London’s Camden is everything a proper pub and restaurant should be: roomy, relaxed, a bit eccentric and boasting a superb kitchen.
The Colonel Fawcett – named for the apocryphal victim of the last fatal duel in England who allegedly died upstairs, though others make similar claims – uses extremely well-provenanced ingredients in its menu, a combination of modern and classic British dishes sure to please every palate. With 14 Craft Beer lines, over 100 Gins and an affordable wine list we have great drinks to match exciting British food. Our Beautiful Function Room has a capacity of 120 people standing or 70 seated for a formal dinner. It is an amazing space to host a birthday party, wedding reception, company dinner or other celebration. The room has it's own DJ booth from which you can play your own music and a private bar. For larger functions we can accommodate 350 guests for a whole venue hire.

Update:So having visited and given the honest review below. I took up the invite to return and it was exceptional! The food was exactly as I had hoped. The pumpkin and Parmesan veloute was so full of flavour and the perfect thickness, the roasts we had were cooked to perfection; succulent chicken, pork belly that was so tender it fell apart and the crackling was spot on. The range of vegetables was excellent and the gravy was so tasty. The sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie finished off the perfect Sunday roast. Thank you Ross. It was a brilliant experience and the service was fantastic. We’ll be back. Initial review: Booked a Sunday roast with family. Really disappointing. 3 potatoes, gravy, mashed butternut squash, cold Yorkshire pudding and a small piece of beef. Same for the vegan meal with a slice of vegan wellington. That’s it. Really hoped for better. Ordered a sausage roll snack and some bread as we were informed there would be a delay. We were served 2 pieces of sliced bread with butter and an inch of cold sausage roll. The staff were friendly and welcoming but the food was awful. Didn’t ask if any of us had food allergies. We won’t visit again.Gave it 3 stars for the staff.

Came here on a Friday for their Friday quiz. Great pub quiz and karaoke! 5/5 for that. Shoutout to Ben for being an incredible quiz host! Experience massively brought down by the food. Ordered a pie and the middle was freezing cold. Cold to touch as well! Was only allowed to swap the price of the pie for drinks, nothing on the house. Its not just disgusting but also a health risk and I did not expect this from this pub. Do not buy food here, clear to see that everything is frozen and reheated (badly).

Don’t eat here. A huge disappointment. We had booked a table for 2:30 on a Sunday and when we arrived we were informed they had run out of Guinness, many lagers and Yorkshire puddings(our first red flag). We ordered sourdough and olives as a starter and the “bread” that arrived was soggy (clearly defrosted & not sourdough) and we had 8 olives to share between 4. The roast took 55 minutes to arrive after ordering, and for £23 each(!!!) it came with 1 slice of beef, 6 carrots and 2 potatoes(as the picture shows). We ordered “seasonal greens” which were microwaved mush for £5 (pictured) Unfortunately the food was cold, not worth the money and it took far too long to arrive. The pub itself is lovely and the staff were fantastic and could only do so much. Don’t eat here

Has to be the worst Sunday roast.....EVER!! Had to wait almost an hour. When it turned up, it was the size of a kids portion. Would not have filled a small dog. It came out cold. No yorkies. Got 2x small roast pots, 2x small slices of carrot, 1x small spoon of I think was swede. And 1x ridiculous small slice of beef!! Got an apology from the waitress, who was very nice, but by all accounts, could not care less, was offered a portion of chips....with a roast dinner.joke. no English mustard, no horseradish. Absolute joke. Was given a 20% discount. Went to pay with cash, which is all i had. Was told card only. No sign on the door saying " card only". So left leaving them with a £20 note. Of which i begrudgingly left. This pub needs a serious wake up call....oh and when I asked for a guiness......" sorry we have sold out". Im looking forward to the response from the management.....if I get one.
