About Venue
There’s something very full circle about this Ivy site, which is the second to possess the ‘Garden’ moniker after The Ivy Chelsea Garden. It was Vintage Salt under previous tenant Des McDonald, who himself used to be head chef at – you guessed it – The Ivy. Located right by Liverpool Street station in serene Bishopsgate Gardens, the space incorporates a restaurant, bar, private dining room and the namesake garden, all decked out in the brand’s well-groomed, colourful interiors. A long, cuisine-leaping menu features everything from the famous shepherd’s pie to tuna carpaccio; ask one of the one-the-ball waiters for advice if you’re stumped what to order. We’d recommend prawn tempura pepped up with a matcha tea sauce and sprinklings of green papaya, edamame beans and cucumber shavings, and a generously portioned main of perfectly-cooked lobster with a side of rich truffle-and-parmesan-topped thick-cut chips. Dessert was a real showstopper, a chocolate bombe on a bed of milk foam, soft vanilla ice cream and sticky-sweet shards of honeycomb, melted at the table with a hot salted-caramel sauce. Vibrant surrounds (including a DJ) help this incarnation of The Ivy keep up with its younger City counterparts, and for big groups there’s a 32-cover private dining room upstairs which overlooks the garden.

Perfect spot for a celebration lunch near Liverpool Street – attentive staff, excellent food, and even allowed us to decorate the table and have our own cake presented beautifully. We visited The Ivy City Garden to celebrate a university graduation, and it didn’t disappoint. I started with the Duck Salad, light yet packed with flavour, followed by The Ivy Steak and Chips with peppercorn sauce, plus Creamed Spinach and Creamed Mashed Potato. Everything was cooked perfectly, presented beautifully, and portion sizes were spot on. Drinks were just as impressive – a Rhubarb Negroni, fresh grapefruit juice, and a pot of coffee with cream to finish. A small slip meant sugar wasn’t offered with the coffee, and there was a brief mix-up with drinks, but staff handled it brilliantly, apologising and removing the items from the bill – a professional touch that left a great impression. The Ivy were also happy to let us add our own sprinkles and personalised cookies to the table for the occasion, and they presented our cake wonderfully (note: outside food can’t be eaten on-site, likely for health reasons). Stylish décor, lively atmosphere, attentive service, and high-quality food make this an ideal celebration spot in central London. Highly recommend and will happily return. #LondonDining #LiverpoolStreetRestaurants #TheIvyExperience

Exceptional meal, exceptional service! We booked a table for a birthday celebration and what a wonderful night we had. Our server, Madhi, was attentive and polite, he made sure we had everything we needed, kept our drinks topped up without asking and provided a quick, efficient service all night. The food was delicious! Everything presented well, at a good speed & hot & tasty. The birrhday profiterole with candle was much appreciated and topped the night off. We can not fault our night and look forward to dining with you again in December

I recently visited The Ivy City Garden and had a lovely experience overall. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service was warm and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the calamari for my starter and the fillet of fish for my main, and both were cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The only downside was the drinks — while they were nice, I found them quite overpriced, which made the final bill higher than I expected. Apart from that, I can’t fault it. I’d definitely recommend The Ivy City Garden for a special meal, just be mindful that the drinks can add up!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on s Saturday... The overall ambiance was nice, but it was fairly busy and loud. There was no wait and we we r e seated right away. The service started well, but deteriorated quickly. Our order was taken, but we surmise that we only wanted water to drink, that we weren't worth their time. The food arrived in a reasonable time. That was the last we saw of the waitress I had their Shepard's pie and my wife had a Burger. Everything was prepared well and tasty, but in my case, just too little portioned.i am not a big eater. But I have to admit that I was still hungry. For the price. I would have expected a little more. ($60 is pretty steep for what we ordered... no drinks, or desserts.)
