Terrys is an experience and I’m glad that I made the detour to come and experience the place. Staff are amazing and friendly, menu is legit just good comfort breakfast food. The billingsgate menu is unique and adds to the strong offering. Had the Billingsgate Breakfast and roll. Also, Austin is a legend!

Reserve a table on OpenTable! I shouldn't be writing it, but it's my wholehearted advice, unless you are the kind of person who either doesn't mind, or actually, like to wait for a table for 45-60min or more. Absolutely brilliant full English breakfast in a very cozy atmosphere and lovely service. It's very popular, especially on weekends and during brunch time (10-13) which was when I visited but I had reserved a table in advance and still had to wait for some 20min before I got seated. Many others were asked to wait for an hour or so. But worth the wait in my opinion. Will definitely try again, and with a reservation in hand.

Visited on Saturday, 13 December, from 09:00 to 11:00, and this was one of those experiences that clearly shows why traditional cafés like this are so loved in London. We were simply looking for a proper English breakfast for two, nothing fancy or overdesigned, just something authentic and well executed. Terry’s Café delivered on every level. From the moment you walk in, the place feels genuine, full of character, and rooted in tradition. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and timeless, the kind of café that feels reassuring the second you sit down. The ambience strikes a perfect balance between calm and lively. Locals clearly know this place well, and visitors quickly understand why. It feels like a true London institution rather than a tourist spot trying too hard. The food was excellent. A classic English breakfast, perfectly cooked, generous portions, and exactly what you expect when you want the real thing. Everything was fresh, well balanced, and served hot. No gimmicks, no unnecessary twists, just honest food done properly by people who clearly know their craft. A practical note: I arrived at 09:00 and there was already a small queue outside. I stayed for about an hour, and within 45 to 50 minutes the café became completely packed and full. Seats fill up quickly, especially on weekends. I would strongly recommend booking in advance if possible, or arriving early, to avoid waiting. If you are in London and want a real English breakfast in a place with soul, history, and authenticity, Terry’s Café is an easy recommendation. A genuine London experience and absolutely worth a visit.

Love the place for their breakfasts. Good products and generous portions. Best English breakfast you can have in London. Welcoming staff and owner himself are often there. Always come by when I visit the city. Please make sure you make a reservation in advance through their website because the place is small.

I visited mid morning for breakfast, having wanted to visit Terry’s for some time and following their content on Instagram. First off, I’d note that the cafe is largely geared to tourists or those looking for a more ‘upmarket’ greasy spoon experience. The decor inside is lovely and has a very nostalgic feel, but the tables are packed in, meaning that the cafe can feel crowded. I did experience some issues with getting a table - as others have noted - and had to wait around 30 minutes. This was frustrating as I could see available, clean tables inside, however I was not immediately seated at them (despite, after the wait, being seated at one of the spaces that had been free for the preceding 25 minutes!!). I suspect this was down to the staff being busy/forgetting about me, but it was somewhat frustrating. I ordered ‘the works’ and it arrived fairly quickly. The sausage was delicious, however the other food was a bit unseasoned/flavourless (particularly the bubble and squeak). Given this was ‘the works’ I was disappointed that it didn’t include toast, and that was an extra charge (though the menu did make that clear). I did appreciate the availability of brown sauce, however. My only other feedback was - sadly, again - about the service. My coffee only arrived after my breakfast, despite being ordered at the same time, and I had to remind my waiter about my coffee as he was taking away my plate. Overall, the experience was fairly average (given the price). The interior of the cafe was nice, but there’re definitely better breakfasts to be had, and for any tourists scouring these Google reviews, I’d recommend the Regency Cafe in Pimlico/Westminster or Marie’s in Waterloo for a slightly more cost effective and tastier breakfast!
