I honestly had a bit of a rough start at this hotel. They're still renovating the first and some of the other floors. I let Edita know, and she sorted it out. Not only did she sort it out, but she just made me feel really welcome. The new room I was put in was just beautiful. Hopefully they finish the renovation very soon.

Initially when I booked, within 6 hours when I checked again the price had fallen £30~ so I contacted the price match email to enquire why. Got a curt unhelpful response from Becca from Birmingham telling me there was a promotion on… you mean the exact promotion that was the only reason I booked…? I replied asking her to clarify the issue or how to match it, got ignored. At that point I frankly wanted to cancel but silly me booked the non refundable rate and they obviously don’t care at head office once they know you’re locked in. After begrudgingly going on the trip I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and the stay ended up being nice, the staff were lovely. One of the housekeepers I didnt catch her name really does not get paid enough she is incredibly helpful and has no issue approaching guest who may look a little lost to help them find where they are going. I saw a few review mentioning cleanliness so I was worried, but overall I couldn’t fault anything except a single cup that either hadn’t been changed over or the lipstick on it hadn’t washed off in the washer. It did make me worry some things weren’t fresh initially but I never encountered anything else to back up that worry. I didn’t personally need anything from the reception but I was around when guested needed help and they seemed knowledgeable and quite helpful making sure people get to where they need to whether it be booking taxis or what. Despite Becca…. I think I would definitely come again.

I brought my daughter for a girly few days and cannot recommend the Newcastle hotel enough. Staff were amazing from the start, specifically Brian who made an effort with my daughter every time he saw her. It was about all the guests not just those who payed the bill! Rooms were clean and as advertised, bathroom was very modern and had everything you would need. Hotel is close to the train station, about a 10minute walk at most, great for if you want to wander around the town. I would be back for definite due to this amazing experience!

Our first and second experience was fantastic. Scott, Alan & all other staff were absolutely welcoming and friendly and couldn't have done any more to make us feel that we were being looked after. Scott and Alan need a special mention as they are both so incredibly good at their job and bent over backwards to help us on our first stay and they remembered us at this stay too. They definitely deserve to be acknowledged by The Leonardo Hotel! First rate customer service.

The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the centre, nicely tucked away. Rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. The bar was pleasant to sit in. However, the rooms , at least on 7th floor, did not have air conditioning and as it was a hot weekend the room was stifling. Couldn't leave the window open as too noisy. Would have appreciated a complementary bottle of water in the room and some biscuits with the tea and coffee facility.
