Booked 3 rooms at this hotel due closeness to Skipton. We had views of the canal which was a bonus. All rooms were on the 3,Rd floor which was an issue for one of our party as there was no lift to that floor and the stairs from floor 2 was a problem for them. This was quickly fixed by reception and another room was offered The hotel itself was great, rooms tidy. Had an early evening meal which had a good selection, nobody complained about the service. Made full use of the lounge bar and rooftop terrace. A special thanks to the bar staff Jack and Kerry who put up with our banter re Happy Hour.Jack gets our vote for employee of the month. Will definitely re visit. Also had buffet breakfast which was first class.

Stayed last weekend, staff super helpful. And what a lovely walk or taxi ride into the beautiful Skipton town centre. Room hotel and our experience was very good, have to mention the breakfast so much to choose from and again the staff were on hand to help when needed. We will definitely be back again, our go to hotel for Skipton. Thanks all

Location great, a walk along towpath, or 5 min. bus journey into town. Nice lounge & restaurant, drinks a bit pricey. Rooms nice enough, if a little dated, & no fridge. Reception looks a bit dowdy, a bit of a put off but on the plus side, worth paying a little extra for the canalside room. Staff were very pleasant & accommodating.

Short weekend break. Room was adequate. Clean and reasonably comfortable. Food in the restaurant was not good. Mushrooms in the starter obviously came from a large catering tin. The same mushrooms (minus the bland garlic sauce) were served in a tureen at breakfast. Chicken and Tarragon was dry and lacking in Tarragon. Service was poor and the kitchen seemed unable to cope with the level of customers. Long wait for basics like coffee or water. Perhaps we were just unlucky but found it hard to justify the optional 10% service charge. On the plus side it's a good location, check-in and bar staff were pleasant.

Unfortunately, my stay fell well short of my expectations. The location is great, especially if you have a room overlooking the Leeds to Liverpool canal. The rooms are, however, tired, dated, and in dire need of a revamp. The staff are (on the whole) very friendly. They're clearly over-stretched, however. This contributed to delays during breakfast service. There was an accident at breakfast too, where hot coffee was spilt all over my partner. The server responsible was extremely apologetic, but the way the hotel dealt with it was extremely poor. We had to ask for medication, as the coffee had scolded the skin. They didn't even log it anywhere as an accident until we asked about it. To top it all, there was zero offer of anything complimentary or even a discount off our bill, as recognition for the incident. It was simply brushed under the carpet. To cap it all, we never even got supplied with replacement toast or coffee!!! There's clearly better run, more modern hotels in the area, and I would highly suggest everyone look to stay with them instead.
