Four stars for the incredible breakfast alone! Organic milk (and dairy alternatives), fair trade etc. Huge cooked and continental buffet (including vegetarian sausages)! Room was basic but clean. Surprisingly quiet area literally 1 min walk from the Tate Modern.GOOGLE REVIEW

Clean, basic rooms, ideal as a base for sightseeing. Literally across the road fro. The Tate Modern. We had lovely breakfast and such nice staff. All were helpful, friendly and made our stay enjoyable. Highly recommended.GOOGLE REVIEW

Bankside deserves 5 stars, because it's in an awesome location behind the Tate Modern, and when I stayed the night it was for a very reasonable price and included breakfast. The breakfast team were cheerful and helpful and went out their way to check various ingredients for me. I'd previously recently stayed in a place in London costing 3 times as much as what I paid here and I can honestly say I preferred Bankside, where the service was much better. In each case I was a single traveller. The room I stayed in was basic with a single bed and I shared a bathroom with the room next door, but had it to myself as that room wasn't occupied when I stayed. It was clean and unpretentious and did the job nicely. They also supplied towels. They don't have WiFi though, but this didn't matter to me as I used my own data. If you're not bothered about staying in basic accommodation, then somewhere like Bankside is a great option.GOOGLE REVIEW

We booked into room 440 with two single beds. My mattress was firm (comfortable) but I was bitten by bed bugs on both nights. Definitely not mosquito bites! My roommate's mattress was quite old and sagged in the middle providing no back support (though at least they avoided being bitten). The windows in all rooms are secured with anti-suicide retainer mechanisms. Unfortunately, combined with the lack of air conditioning and London's recent high temperatures, it meant there was virtually no airflow through the room and it stayed very hot and muggy all day and night. The windows only open the tiniest amount and are totally useless as ventilation. The fully catered breakfast was delicious, probably the best thing about the stay. The bar in the basement is big and serves a variety of drinks at student friendly prices and shows sports on a projector. There's a communal kitchen with all appliances except the fridge-freezer turned off. However at least you can store drinks or food and there's lots of nearby supermarkets. The location is very convenient for Southbank and somewhat convenient for central city locations though it'll require a bus or tube ride most of the time. However despite the level of cleanliness and room service, the fact the mattresses are obviously not cleaned or sanitized at all is a bit alarming. If mattresses are stored together outside of student term time, there's a chance many will now also have bugs. I don't think I'll stay there again.GOOGLE REVIEW

Had a amazing stay in Bankside House located just behind TATE MODERN as a summer B&B deal. The place was clean, unlimited breakfast- lovely; in the basement available laundry area with ironing facilities, six lifts getting You quickly to Your destination floor, magnificent views of London City. The only downfall preventing me from giving the maximum five star note was the kitchen facility- lack of access to available kitchens. Will definitely return againGOOGLE REVIEW
