The restaurant and bar look amazing after the refurbishment. Loved the design of the front bar, especially the fire pits. All the staff were helpful and friendly and food was really great.GOOGLE REVIEW

Really disappointed with the standard of the room - having paid extra to upgrade. Room was shabby, and not cleaned over the weekend. Food was cold (reimbursed thank you), and breakfast was “all over the place”. But, the staff were amazing, really helpful and really cheerful. The new bar is beginning to raise standards, but they have a long way to go before this hotel is up to scratch! Come on management, give your staff a chance and sort this mess out! Won’t be returning until there is a significant upgrade, sorry, which is a real shame, as location is perfect.GOOGLE REVIEW

Newly refurbished exterior and bar. Prices for food and drinks are very good. The menu is fairly limited but what we had was excellent quality. The works that have been done have transformed the Hillcrest into a must visit place. There where a few minor teething problems but overall we fully enjoyed our time there. Highly recommended.GOOGLE REVIEW

Best stay ever, wasn't expecting much but the staff couldn't have been more helpful, I was on a business trip and has luck would have it. There's a gentleman in the bar area, total stranger, but a lovely man. Turned out he was the owner. They go above and beyond in this place. Highly recommended and Matt is the best guy ever!!!GOOGLE REVIEW

No attention to detail. Breakfast haphazard, eggs before porridge sort of experience. Orders taken on a torn piece of paper, waiter needed to be asked for cutlery rather than being attentive and checking himself. Room was clean, but dated. Window could not be opened more than an inch, no air conditioning. Door lock was from the 70s, need to push hard to open and slam to shut. No electronic access key. Fire door every five steps hence a lot of noise as they are not sound proof. Check in and check out smooth. Ongoing construction site to the front but somehow feels abandoned as no workmen seen on site. Parking felt like area for locals to congregate to drink and smoke as broken glass bottles, smashed glass and used drug paraphernalia seen. Seem to be popular with functions although honestly not sure why.GOOGLE REVIEW
