Wedding suite: My husband, and i got married. Lovely room. Very clean. Disappointment that for such a lovely hotel, there was no air conditioning in the hotel. We purchased a fan to bring back to the room. Very warm day and the window only opened approximately 2inched...with a security window lock in place. Bathroom: hand basin looked a little grubby. Black grout in the floor times made the floor look dirty. The shower over the bath; Very poor water pressure and flow. Staff: extremely friendly.

Good rates and was surprised how clean the room was. Very nice shower 🚿. Very friendly staff! I had to call for directions and he stayed on the phone until I arrived! See you again one day Mate! 🇬🇧

I booked this hotel, mainly for the location because of a family wedding me and my husband were attending in Widnes. From the photos off of Booking.com I had high hopes in having an amazing experience. After a 6hr travel from the Southeast, the anticipation of this hotel was hitting us hard and we were impressed when entering the lobby. We then started to realise that nothing what we expected was to follow there after. As we entered the hallway of our room there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke, followed by a floor mop and rubbish left outside our room door. Our room was pleasent, and thankfully free from smoke. A well made bed and clean towels was left for us, but so was plenty of hair in plug holes, uncleaned mirrors and dusty flooring. There was no hangers in the wardrobe, and the bedside lamps were plugged into nothing behind the bed. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was very cheap, but the restaurant wasn't open, very misleading being call a Hotel & Restaurant. At night the other guests were very loud, shouting and banging can be heard leading up to midnight. The whole experience seemed at first frustrating, with appliances not working and features not available, it then seemed quite sad. As we looked around at what was once a 5 star accommodation, with an abandoned outdoor dining experience and water features that aren't in use anymore. We found out what had happened to this place and that it's main source of income is from temporary housing. Do not be fooled by the photos they present, it was probably an amazing hotel back in it's day. Other than the comfortable bed and perfect location, I will definitely not be returning to this empty shell of a business. My experience was by far not the worst compared to the reviews I've seen online, but a strange and somewhat depressing one at best.

Every morning you had to wait for the breakfast 😞 it says 07.30 but its first ready 10 min or more later. If you look around, youll find the hotel tired.

Upon arrival looked great marble floor etc.but once checked in no restaurant no bar meals no beer that I wanted all I was told they had no delivery. Went to chill in room after a long drive to find the tv only had bbc1 and 3 asked for another room but was told they were full but you could still book a room with booking .com staff just don't care once they have had your money
