About Venue

Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre is part of the University of Birmingham Group. Conveniently located just two miles from Birmingham city centre, it’s only a six-minute train journey from Birmingham New Street to University station. It’s then a 15-minute stroll to the hotel through leafy Edgbaston. If you’re driving, you’ll find free car parking on site.

The bright, contemporary hotel and conference centre are framed by two charming, historic buildings. Garth House is Grade II-listed, and has been beautifully restored in period style as a luxury hotel. Hornton Grange, built in 1928, has been transformed into a boutique hotel with bespoke décor that compliments the character and history of the building.

Together, they offer a wide variety of luxury rooms, bespoke dining options and special event spaces. For conferences, the spacious meeting rooms in the conference centre provide flexible, well-equipped venues for groups of all sizes.

Heron is located at Peter Scott House which is located across the road from Edgbaston Park Hotel. Heron is a ground-floor meeting space, accommodating up to 10 delegates, featuring a TV screen for laptop connectivity, natural light, and air conditioning.

Spacious rooms, clean simple elegant. Service is excellent, notably Angela, who was very helpful at check in. Food is not cheap, but very good quality. Beer is well priced. Location is great for anything around the university. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I stayed for the first time for one night prior to conference at Edgbaston cricket ground. Friendly, welcoming staff on hotel reception. I had a lovely room that was spotless & very relaxing. The hotel was modern & clean, all staff were friendly & polite. Both the evening meal & breakfast were excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Travelled here for a conference and it is a fantastic site and venue. The rooms are spacious, clean and have great facilities. There was an issue with the booking, not the hotel's fault, but Adriana Travnic on tbe front desk was nothing less than exceptional when helping me rectify the situation, would definitely stay again

It’s a great choice for a comfortable stay, especially for parents visiting a child at the university. The housekeeping staff is wonderful. We loved its in room complimentary English breakfast tea and cookies. I highly recommend the large English breakfast over the buffet, as it's easily big enough for two people to share. Check in and check out is super fast.

    October 2025

I enjoyed my last visit to this hotel in February 2025, whilst visiting my daughter at university here. I therefore joined the loyalty scheme as I knew I would be back for further visits to see my daughter. I have just recently returned from a second visit (October 2025) and will not be returning. The hotel room had biscuit crumbs on the bedside table from the previous occupant/s. I could not use the tea/coffee mugs in the bedroom next to the kettle because they were stained with tea from the previous user. The en-suite door kept jamming. As a loyalty scheme member, I looked forward to a welcome drink as per the description on the hotels website. Unfortunately, I was not offered one. There seems to be no value to joining this scheme. The food in the bar is not as described. We ordered a burger with brioche bun and it arrived with a standard (non brioche) bun which was so wet and soggy - it was inedible. Such a shame. My daughter is on a 5 year degree and I would have certainly have been returning regularly for 5 years whilst visiting her but it appears I’ll have to find somewhere else where guests are treated a little better.
