June 2025LOVED this beautiful and charming hotel in the heart of London. Close to the train station and includes breakfast. We missed out as we had an early flight. The staff were lovely and friendly. Absolutely enjoyed our stay at one of their Suites. ( They need to force people to wear slippers inside to keep the carpet clean though). My husband and I would stay here again! 😊

May 2025Lovely looking hotel, a bit quirky in it's layout. Good standard of décor for an old building. Unfortunately our room was on the 4th floor and next to some sort of machinery which turned on and off all night. The beds were very comfortable.

March 2025I would rate the hotel as 2**. Stayed 6 nights. This is an old charming building that needs updating and renovation. The room was ok and the bed was good. There was a TV, a heater and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom was ok. The building has many floors and no lifts. The floors creak, so earplugs are essential for light sleepers. The friendliness of the service depends entirely on the employee. Some are downright rude, but among them is the gem who takes care of breakfast, Yusef (or Jussef). He made me feel welcome. Breakfast was ok. The cleaning staff are also friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location! About 100 meters from the metro station in a quiet area.

May 2025Avoid at all costs. How on earth they advertise as anything higher than 1/2 stars is beyond me. Firstly, we had paid for half board to be told on arrival, that we couldn't eat as there was a private function. The man on reception was lovely, and said we could possibly have room service if we ordered straight away. It was 1615, we weren't ready to eat then. The menu we were offered contained no vegetarian options, and it was what was being served at the private function. We ordered takeaway, incurring extra costs. The bedrooms are truly awful. Truly. Stained bedding, stained sofa. Cupboard doors hanging off. The bathroom was full of bugs. The heating/air con wasn't working, so they had placed a massive portable ac unit in the middle of the room with an extractor hose sticking out the window. To use it, the window had to remain open which wouldn't have been too awful if there wasn't a party in the restaurant playing extremely loud music all night. Rooms are stifling if the windows are shut. Bed was uncomfortable. Curtains wouldn't close properly. Carpet was worn in places through to the underlay. The water pressure in the shower was non-existent. It was like being spat on ha. The shower unit itself was hanging off the wall and fell during use. The tap in the sink didn't work. Honestly, it's the worst place I've ever stayed. I'm still waiting for the 50% refund they've finally agreed to. After lodging complaints on the evening of my stay and several since leaving, they initially offered us a complimentary stay on a Sunday evening. The travel costs for us alone would cost us more than a room for the evening. Plus, being self-employed, we'd have to take unpaid leave. And the fact that they thought we would ever want to visit again boggles my mind ha! So after much too and fro, they have agreed a 50% refund but time will tell. Needless to say, we didn't even bother looking at the "breakfast" they offer, we'd have our fill by then and just wanted out. Do yourself a favour and book a cheaper room through a chain, at least you know what you're going to get. The ONLY positive is location. 30 seconds from the tube and in a really beautiful area of London. But so is the Premier Inn by the Tower of London and a lot cheaper too!
