What’s included in the venue hire price?

Exclusive use of this historic chamber for up to 12, furnished with its original antique table and chairs. Wi-Fi and a portable presentation screen can be provided, and an event coordinator is on hand given the room’s frequent VIP use.

Does the venue provide catering, or can I bring my own food and drinks?

Catering is provided in-house, from refined tea service to private dining with elegant place settings. External catering isn’t permitted, ensuring consistency and service in keeping with the room’s character.

Can I decorate or brand the venue for my event?

Discreet touches, like a tabletop emblem, flag, or mantle flowers, work well. Large banners or wall posters aren’t suitable due to the protected period finishes, but branded stationery is welcome.

Is the venue accessible, and does it have parking or nearby transport links?

Despite its heritage, the room is accessible via elevator and suitable for guests with limited mobility. We’re close to Westminster and St James’s Park stations; there’s no on-site parking, but we can coordinate special vehicle access for VIPs with advance notice.

What is the venue’s pricing structure e.g. minimum spend, dry hire, or package options?

Pricing is bespoke and in line with our other small historic rooms, typically a few hundred pounds for short bookings. It’s often included within larger packages (e.g. as a speaker green room); costs are a hire fee plus any catering ordered, with out-of-hours premiums where applicable.

About Venue

Church House Westminster occupies a Grade II listed, Sir Herbert Baker-designed building opened by King George VI in 1940 that's since hosted UN meetings, wartime Parliament and royal occasions. Its 30-foot glass dome tops nineteen flexible spaces, backed by over £1 million invested in sound, lighting and broadcast equipment. Behind the history sits genuinely modern thinking: an in-house production team and experienced events staff who turn heritage into seamlessly delivered corporate events.

This historic room was originally used by bishops to prepare for General Synod. Located on the first floor adjacent to Convocation Hall, the Bishops' Robing Room now serves as both an ideal breakout space and green room for guest speakers, while also accommodating small discussion groups, meetings, and interviews when hired independently.

If more than 7 days before event start date, 90% of room hire fee if rooms are not re-sold or £50+VAT admin fee less deposits paid; 1-6 days before event start date, 100% of room hire fee plus 100% of catering less deposits paid if rooms are not re-sold, or £50+VAT plus 100% catering less payment for any beverages and less deposits paid.

A very nice place to host a business event in the heart of London. The venue has a professional feel, the staff were helpful and the overall service was good. It is well suited for so called london meetings, conferences/events, with a well organised atmosphere The only minor issue was the parking. It was not very well maintained on the day and the area where we parked did not feel suitable for some of the guests attending a professional event. apart from that, the venue itself was impressive and in a great location. Overall a lovely place and a good choice for business in London
